Israeli airstrikes targeted four locations in southern Lebanon over the weekend, according to Lebanon's state-owned National News Agency. The strikes hit villages including Khiam, Tayr Harfa, Kfarkella near Odaisseh, and an area between Ramieh and Beit Leif.
The Israeli military confirmed the airstrikes, stating that they targeted Hezbollah positions. One strike in Tayr Harfa was aimed at a Hezbollah military structure where a terrorist was reportedly operating. Additionally, Israeli forces struck an observation post in Odaisseh and two military structures in Khiam.
Tensions between Israel and Lebanon have escalated, particularly following Israel's military campaign in Gaza. Hezbollah, an Iran-backed Lebanese militant group, has condemned Israel's actions and openly supported Palestinian militants.
Cross-border skirmishes and retaliatory actions have occurred between Israeli and Hezbollah forces since Hamas launched an attack on Israel in October 7.
