Meta AI now in Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp

It seems like Meta has integrated Meta AI into the search bars of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, effectively turning them into AI chatbots. Users can ask these platforms anything within the search bar, and Meta AI, powered by Meta's new Llama 3 open-source large language model (LLM), will provide answers.

However, if you're not keen on using Meta AI, there's no option to turn it off. Meta has stated that Meta AI aims to be a helpful assistant and is integrated into the search bar to assist with users' questions. Users cannot disable it from this experience, but they can search as they normally would and engage with a variety of results.

So, if you really dislike Meta AI, the only option to remove it from your experience is to delete your Facebook or Instagram account. While Meta AI may offer suggestions at times, users can largely ignore it and continue using the search functions on these platforms as they always have.

If Meta provides an option to turn off Meta AI in the future, Mashable will update its information accordingly. But for now, Meta AI is here to stay.
