10th anniversary of the Invictus Games will be attended by Prince Harry

Prince Harry is set to return to the United Kingdom next month to commemorate a significant milestone - the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, a sporting competition he founded in 2014. The Duke of Sussex will attend a ceremony at London's St. Paul's Cathedral on May 8, where he will give a reading to mark the occasion.
This will be Prince Harry's first visit to the UK since February, when he made a swift trip to see his father, King Charles, following his cancer diagnosis. In a recent interview with ABC's "Good Morning America," Prince Harry expressed his gratitude for being able to spend time with his father during that visit.
It is unclear whether Prince Harry will meet with other members of the royal family during his trip next month. The Duke and his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, relocated to the United States in 2020 and have made only a few brief visits to the UK since then.
The Invictus Games, which Prince Harry established after his deployment in Afghanistan, aim to support the recovery of wounded, injured, and sick service personnel and veterans. The next games will be held in Vancouver and Whistler, Canada, in February 2025, and will feature adaptive sports such as indoor rowing, sitting volleyball, and wheelchair rugby.
In addition to his work with the Invictus Games, Prince Harry will also travel to Nigeria in May with his wife, Meghan. The Nigerian Defense Headquarters has expressed its "honor and delight" at the couple's visit, which will include meetings with service members and cultural activities. There is also the possibility of Nigeria hosting the Invictus Games in the future, which will be discussed during the trip.
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has previously spoken about her Nigerian heritage, stating that she is "43 percent Nigerian" on her podcast "Archetypes."
Prince Harry's return to the UK comes as his father, King Charles, is set to return to public-facing duties following his cancer treatment. Buckingham Palace has announced that the King will welcome Japan's Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako for a state visit in June, but will not carry out a full summer program due to his ongoing recovery.
Overall, Prince Harry's upcoming visit to the UK and Nigeria highlights his continued commitment to his charitable work and his desire to stay connected with his roots, despite his relocation to the United States.
