Former President Donald Trump is facing four separate criminal trials

Former President Donald Trump is facing four separate criminal trials in different jurisdictions, with three of them now delayed indefinitely. Trump has pleaded not guilty in all cases and claims that the prosecutions are a coordinated political persecution. However, the delays are not necessarily evidence of a conspiracy against him, but rather a result of the slow-working justice system and Trump's own legal strategies.
The first case, related to Trump's handling of classified documents, was delayed indefinitely by Judge Aileen Cannon, who was appointed by Trump. Legal experts doubt that the trial will occur before the November election. Trump's former White House counsel, Ty Cobb, has criticized Cannon for her slow pace and deference to Trump's requests.
The second case, accusing Trump of conspiring to overturn the 2020 election results, is also on hold due to the US Supreme Court's slow schedule. The court refused to fast-track reviewing Trump's claim of "absolute immunity" from criminal prosecution, and the case is now pending oral arguments before a lower court.
The third case, related to Trump's effort to overturn election results in Georgia, has been delayed due to Trump's appeal of the prosecutor's decision to remain on the case.
The only trial currently underway is the New York case, which focuses on Trump's alleged affair with adult-film star Stormy Daniels and his efforts to cover it up. While the trial has provided salacious and embarrassing moments for Trump, it is unclear whether a conviction for falsifying business records will have a significant impact on the election.
Trump's legal strategy is to delay the trials and get elected, and then work to make them go away. From that perspective, the delays are a positive development for him. However, the slow pace of the justice system and Trump's own legal maneuverings do not necessarily support his claims of political persecution.
