The resident, like many others, has chosen not to return to Grindavik. She explained, "Even if we were allowed to go back, I'm not sure I would want to. The uncertainty and fear of another eruption are too much to bear."

The volcanic activity in the area is still ongoing, and the town remains abandoned. The resident expressed her sadness, saying, "Grindavik was our home. We had our lives there, our friends, our community. Leaving it all behind has been hard."
