Mexican authorities are investigating the disappearance of three tourists

Mexican authorities are investigating the disappearance of three tourists, including an American and two Australians, who went missing on April 27 during a surfing and camping trip in the Ensenada area. A vehicle, tents, and a cell phone were found in the search area, and three Mexican nationals are being questioned in connection with the case.
The missing tourists are Jack Carter Rhoad, an American, and Australian brothers Jake and Callum Robinson. The brothers' mother, Debra Robinson, raised the alarm on social media, saying that the three friends had been unreachable since April 27 and failed to show up at an Airbnb in Rosarito. She expressed concern about Callum's diabetes and appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
Jake, 30, is a doctor from Perth, Western Australia, and Callum, 33, lives in San Diego, California, and is a member of Australia's national lacrosse team. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese expressed concern over the brothers' disappearance, saying, "We certainly hope that these brothers are found safely, but there is real concern about the fact that they've gone missing... Their mother is obviously very distressed about this. And we just hope for a positive outcome."
Mexican authorities are working with US and Australian counterparts to investigate the disappearance. The Baja California state attorney's office said that a team of investigators is searching the area where the three friends were last seen, and that they are following up on all leads.
The disappearance has raised concerns about safety in the area, which is known for cartel violence. However, Baja California's chief public prosecutor Maria Elena Andrade Ramirez said that it is unclear if the disappearance is related to criminal activity.
The search for the missing tourists is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. The case has sparked international attention, with many expressing hope for a safe return of the three friends.
