Putin's Invasion of Kharkiv: A City Under Siege

As the war between Ukraine and Russia continues, the city of Kharkiv is under siege. The relentless daily bombardment from the skies has left a trail of destruction and devastation. The latest victims of Russia's onslaught are the residents of a quiet residential street in Kharkiv, who have been left with nothing but charred remains and memories.

The Lutsenko family, who have lived in their home for 24 years, were among those affected. Their property was hit by an Iranian-made Shahed-136 kamikaze drone, which burned to the ground. The family escaped via their bedroom window, but their home is now reduced to rubble.

Oleksii Yakhno, 71, is another victim of the war. His home, which he and his wife Olga have lived in for 51 years, was destroyed by a drone. He was asleep in a back bedroom when the drone struck, and his wife was on a sofa bed in the kitchen. They managed to escape with their lives, but their home is gone.

The mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, has spoken out about the devastating impact of the war on the city's residents. "People are left with nothing right now," he said. "We will definitely help them and do our best to rebuild their lives."

As the war rages on, it's clear that Putin's invasion of Kharkiv is a brutal and devastating attack on civilians. The indiscriminate attacks have left many without homes, livelihoods, or hope. It's a reminder that war is not just about politics or territory, but about the human cost of conflict.
