Does the New Testament Replace the Torah?

Many Christians believe the New Testament replaces the Torah, but the Hebrew Scriptures tell a different story. Deuteronomy 4:2 commands us not to add to or subtract from God's words. The Torah stands as an eternal covenant, not a temporary one. The Apostle Paul himself continued observing Torah customs (Acts 21:24). Yeshua taught from the Torah, not against it. The difference is not replacement but application—the Torah shows us God's character, while the New Testament shows us how to follow the Messiah who embodied that Torah perfectly. For Torah-observant believers, the New Testament does not abolish God's instructions but clarifies their heart-level fulfillment. Love for God has always been the goal (Deuteronomy 6:5), and the New Testament calls us back to that same love.
