Faith and Obedience: A False Division

Some claim the Torah demands works while the New Testament demands faith. But Genesis 15:6 shows Abraham believed God, and it was counted as righteousness—faith in action. The Torah never separated faith from obedience. Deuteronomy 30:14 says God's word is in your mouth and heart, so you can do it. This internalizes obedience as an expression of faith, not a replacement for it. James 2:17 echoes this: faith without works is dead. The solution is not choosing between faith and obedience but recognizing they work together. Faith trusts God enough to obey His instructions. Obedience without faith is empty ritual. Faith without obedience is mere belief. Together, they form a complete response to God's grace.
