Medical debt or the immigrant crisis

Medical debt or the immigrant crisis

Which of the two is most important for US citizens?

According to most media reports and also Google statistics the immigration question is the one which is the most discussed in the US at this point in time. I find this surprising especially when the whole immigration system is looked at objectively then it can quickly be seen that immigration is actually beneficial to the US economy contrary to popular opinion. The same thing cannot be said for medical debt in the US because there are millions of US citizens that is struggling under the burden of medical debt. Not only that but they are aggressively pursued by debt collection companies who is adamant that those debts be paid. Although the uninformed US citizen will have a growing concern with regard to the immigration situation the reality of the matter is that immigration is not nearly as big a problem as medical debt. Medical debt currently has a very direct impact upon the financial freedom of millions of US citizens and it is especially the older generation and those with no employment that are really struggling to find a solution for their increasing medical debt problems. Obama care and the affordable health care act and in other programs which has been implemented by the Senate does not even come close to provide lasting and sustainable relief for people struggling with medical debt.

Listen carefully to the presidential candidates

If all they can talk about from early until late is immigration and solutions to those problems then US citizens may be the victims of misdirection. It is a well-known strategy of political parties to give a lot of attention to one supposedly big problem and they are experts at creating a hype around those issues causing everyone to forget those things which really is a daily part of the lives of US citizens such as medical debt and the rising medical care costs in this country. We need presidential candidates that are able to put a genuine long-term solution on the table for dealing with the issue of healthcare in the US and they should be able to present US citizens with a viable solution which will be able to deal with medical debt and all the related issues. Why is a country of the stature of the US only 37th on the list of effective medical care systems in the world? Despite that low position medical healthcare in the US is twice as expensive as the health care of any other developed country. It may be time that US citizens start to exert more pressure on their political leaders so that the policies surrounding healthcare in this country could be changed in order to make things easier for US citizens and especially those with chronic illnesses which requires frequent medical care.

Immigration versus medical debt

Every US citizen should consider this issue for themselves, which one of these issues is having the largest impact on their personal lives, medical debt or immigration? Thereby am not saying that immigration is not important, but what I am saying is that the impact of medical debt is many times more severe than those which is caused by immigration. I am saying that medical debt should without any doubt be the most important point of discussion in the US at this point in time and especially so close to the presidential elections. I am saying that presidential candidates should spend the major part of their election speeches on the issue of medical debt and healthcare in this country. Things had been out of control for a long time as far as healthcare in the US is concerned and it has become time to address this issue very seriously. The reality is that 70% of all filings for bankruptcy is the direct result of medical debt and not because of immigration, it is just surprising that none of the presidential candidates will admit this. Any sensible US citizen should be able to see that the most important issue in the US at this point of time is most definitely the issue of rising healthcare costs and the resulting medical debts and that should take preeminence over discussions relating to immigration.

Conclusion
When it comes right down to it immigrants can be kicked out, in other words a relatively easy solution but dealing with large pharmaceutical companies who are more concerned with lucrative profits than they are with the suffering of poor and also old US citizens and who are under the protection of politicians because of the large donations which they are giving to political organizations, this is an completely different matter which no one wants to touch for obvious reasons.
