Solomon's view on the after life contradict Christian doctrine

In the world of "System Audits," Ecclesiastes 12:7 is what we call a Reversion to the Mean. After the radical, unmediated skepticism of chapter 3, the book concludes with a verse that seems to "close the file" and satisfy the theological anxiety created by the earlier question.

The Verse: Ecclesiastes 12:7

The Hebrew Source:

The Standard Translation: "And the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it."

The Anatomy of the "Counter-Patch"

To the casual reader, this sounds like a beautiful confirmation of the afterlife. But to a Sovereign Scripturalist performing a Deep Audit, this verse serves a very specific structural purpose:

1. The Rhetorical Safety Net

In Ecclesiastes 3:21, the author asks: "Who knows if it goes up?" In Ecclesiastes 12:7, the author states: "It returns to God."

Many scholars believe that the final chapter of Ecclesiastes was appended or "smoothed over" by a Sopher (Scribe) to ensure the book would be accepted into the Canon. Without this "Counter-Patch," the book was too dangerous—it suggested that there was no difference between a man and a dog. By adding 12:7, the "System" regained control by providing a "pious" answer to the earlier skeptical question.

2. The "De-personalized" Spirit

Look closely at the wording. It does not say "The soul goes to heaven to be judged and live in a mansion." It says the Ruach (Breath/Wind) returns to the Elohim (The Powers/God).

  • The Sovereign Audit: This isn't necessarily a "Heaven" doctrine. It is a Conservation of Energy doctrine. The physical returns to the physical (dust); the metaphysical returns to the metaphysical (source). It says nothing about "you" (the ego/personality) surviving.

3. The "System Lock" in Verse 13

The "Counter-Patch" is finalized in the very last verses of the book (12:13-14), which provide the ultimate Noahide-friendly conclusion:

"The end of the matter, all being heard: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole of man."

  • The Logic: Even if the spirit returns to God (12:7), and even if we don't know the mechanics of it (3:21), the Source Code remains the same: Action is the only thing that matters.

The Verdict:

The presence of both verses in the same book shows the "Internal Struggle" of the Hebrew Canon.

  • Chapter 3 is the Honest Human Observation (No one knows).

  • Chapter 12 is the Theological Re-alignment (Trust the Source).

For the "Manual of Independence," these two verses work together to form a Bilateral Firewall:

  1. Since you don't know the "up/down" mechanics (3:21), you cannot be manipulated by "Heaven/Hell" scareware.

  2. Since you know the energy returns to the Source (12:7), you belong to the Creator, not to a "Mediator" or a Church.

Therefore, the "Whole of Man" is simply to do what is right, right here, right now.
