Here's a summary of what happened in court today

David Pecker:

  • Pecker denied that the concept of "catch and kill" was discussed at an August 2015 meeting at Trump Tower but acknowledged an understanding with Michael Cohen to flag potentially negative stories to him.
  • He confirmed that the National Enquirer often recycled content about Trump's opponents without notifying Trump and based stories on information that wasn't exclusive to the Enquirer.
  • Pecker agreed that Karen McDougal was focused on relaunching her career rather than the payment in the agreement regarding her alleged affair with Trump.
  • He stated that he told Cohen the agreement with McDougal was legally sound but admitted to not directly speaking with the campaign lawyer or informing the AMI general counsel about the agreement.
  • Pecker confirmed that he didn't want to buy Stormy Daniels' story but encouraged Cohen to consider it.
  • Regarding an FBI interview discrepancy, Pecker maintained that Trump thanked him for handling stories about McDougal and Dino Sajudin.

Rhona Graff:

  • Graff, who worked for Trump for 34 years at the Trump Organization, testified about her role in maintaining Trump's contacts and calendar.
  • She recalled seeing Stormy Daniels at Trump Tower before Trump ran for president and assumed her visits were related to "The Apprentice."
  • Graff described working with Trump as stimulating and exciting, portraying him as a respectful boss.

Gary Farro:

  • Farro, a former senior managing director at First Republic Bank, testified about setting up an account for the payment to McDougal that never occurred.
  • He stated that Cohen coordinated with him to open an account for "real estate" but later wanted to open a new account instead, which was used to pay Stormy Daniels.

Gag order:

  • Judge Juan Merchan announced a hearing on Thursday morning to discuss potential violations of the gag order against Trump.
