No solid evidence for Bidens civil rights arrest

The claim that President Joe Biden got arrested while defending civil rights has been scrutinized and found to lack evidence. Biden has recounted this story on multiple occasions, including during his recent appearance on "The Howard Stern Show." In his retelling, Biden describes an incident where he supposedly got arrested while standing on a porch with a Black family during a protest against desegregation in a Delaware suburb.

However, fact-checkers from The Washington Post and PolitiFact have investigated this claim and found no evidence to support it. In previous versions of the story, Biden mentioned being escorted home by the police rather than being arrested. Moreover, there is no record of Biden's arrest during a civil rights protest, as documented by newspapers from the time.

While protests against desegregation did occur in Delaware around the time Biden was a teenager, the arrests made during these events were related to other offenses, such as possession of fireworks, and not for civil rights activities. Therefore, the claim that Biden got arrested in connection with civil rights protests lacks substantiation.

This incident is part of a pattern of false claims made by Biden about his personal past, including assertions about his earnings and past occupations.
