A lot of financial support for North Carolina's 9th District

Republican House candidate Dan Bishop is trailing in the polls in North Carolina's 9th District, a district won by President Trump in 2016. Bishop claims that the reason for this is the large amount of outside money supporting his Democratic opponent, Dan McCready. However, most of the money supporting Bishop also comes from outside the district and state.
Bishop has received significant funding from super PACs, party committees, and dark money groups, including the National Republican Congressional Committee, the Congressional Leadership Fund, and Club for Growth Action. Additionally, he has taken tens of thousands of dollars from out-of-state Republican politicians.
Despite this, Bishop attributes his potential loss to outside money supporting McCready, citing donations from California, New York, and New Jersey. However, experts consider the race a toss-up, and Bishop's claims of outside influence may be seen as hypocritical given the significant outside funding he has received.
The race is notable due to the district's previous election fraud scandal, which led to the seat being vacant since January. President Trump is scheduled to campaign for Bishop ahead of the special election on Tuesday.
