Emperor of Japan to visit UK

 

Naruhito, the current emperor of Japan, was born on February 23, 1960, in Tokyo, Japan. He is the eldest son of Akihito, the previous emperor, and Michiko, the previous empress. As the heir apparent, Naruhito became the crown prince in 1989 and succeeded his father as emperor on May 1, 2019, following Akihito's historic abdication.
