The US Central Command (CENTCOM) recently conducted another aid airdrop in northern Gaza, bringing the total amount of aid delivered by air to nearly 1,001 tons since March 2.
During the latest operation, which involved four US Air Force C-13 aircraft, 50,688 meals were airdropped. However, one bundle accidentally landed in the sea during the operation.
While aid airdrops have been carried out by several countries, including the United States, the effectiveness of this method has been questioned by the United Nations and aid agencies. They argue that land crossings provide the most efficient means of delivering aid to the enclave.
